Education: Alex attended St. Christopher's Prep School and Nursery until year six, then King Edward VI Community College, both in Totnes, Devon. He graduated from University of Michigan in six years, but managed to finish his Masters in Anthropological Archaeology, also at University of Michigan.

Profession: Alex currently works odd jobs. He also sells exhibits to museum groups, and works with University of Michigan in Anthropological Archaeology. He is also in line to be a Duke, but is trying to convince his family to hand the title to another relative.

Usual Weapons: Alex can only use basic weapons, a hunting rifle, crossbow, and a handgun. He is also skilled in throwing a javelin from his days of running track.

Skills & Special Abilities: Alex is precognitive, and empathetic. He doesn’t realize how talented he is, and considers himself to be lucky. He knows very basic magic, only enough to assist Samantha when needed. He does have an immense wealth of knowledge about history and artifacts, and is talented in finding them.

He’s also a very fast runner, excellent climber, and great at throwing a javelin.


Before LJ/DW:

Raised in Devon, by an aristocratic Mother and a commoner Father, Jonathan lived a somewhat privileged life in Totnes. His world changed forever when his Father took the family on a trip to the States, then informed his Mother that he was leaving her for the American Nanny.

That summer, Jonathan met Samantha Linden-Cresswell, a wealthy American, and fell in love. The two continued their relationship and married as soon as Jonathan moved to the States to go to University of Michigan. Both families were against the marriage and the young couple was left to survive on their own. Eventually, some poorer cousins of Samantha offered to help the couple. They even provided childcare when Samantha gave birth to a daughter in her Freshman year of college. Jonathan began going by the name ‘Alex Duke’, and even started taking the steps to legally change his name.

Samantha was heavy into magic, and began dabbling in the dark arts. She and Alex were falling apart as a couple, and they struggled to have a healthy relationship with Elizabeth. The year after he graduated from Grad school, Samantha visited an underground dealer for spell components, which turned out to be cursed. She died later that evening.

Alex moved away, and allowed Samantha’s cousins to get custody of Elizabeth. His British family started speaking with him again, and asked if he would reclaim his title of Earl, since his Great Uncle, a Duke, was growing ill.

In his grief, he agreed, but now he is trying to dodge the title once more, and the responsibility that comes with it.
